Colette Chapman is a prominent figure in the London, Ontario community, actively promoting diversity and inclusion. She served as the President of the African Caribbean United Soccer Club, an organization dedicated to youth development through soccer. Colette Chapman is a Registered Social Worker with her own private practice, demonstrating her commitment to community well-being. Her professional experience includes working with the Children’s Aid Society; Previous Sessional Professor at Fanshawe College;Supervisor at Children’s Aid Society; Manager of Children’s Aid Society and currently Supervisor of school social workers.Ms Chapman holds a Bachelor of Social Work from McGill University with a Minor in Canadian Ethnic Studies and a Master of Social Work from McMaster University. She also holds a Certificate of Immigration from Humber College.Ms. Chapman has been a panelist on « Confronting Anti-Black Racism City Symposium »: This platform provided a crucial space for discussing and addressing systemic racism within the city of London, along with being a co create of Black Coachs of Canada Event. Ms. Chapman provides training as an independent contractor for the Ontario Association of Children Aid Society, and focuses on training Social Workers and Leaders around issues of equity and confronting Anti Black Racism within the child welfare field.Ms. Chapman is focused on providing racial trauma interventions and support to clients, along with addressing other issues around mental health for youth, adolescents and adults.In 2024 Ms. Chapman was the 2024 recipient of the OASW Local Distinguished Social Worker Award in London & Area. This award is given annually at the local level to recognize social workers and OASW members whose leadership, advocacy, or innovation have benefited their colleagues and communities.
