Moravia de la O supports people who are struggling with past traumas in their daily lives. Throughout her career as a therapist, she has had the honour of walking alongside survivors of sexual violence, childhood abuse and neglect, domestic violence, human trafficking, and stalking. She understands the deeply felt and long-lasting impacts of trauma on a person’s body, brain, sense of self, and relationships. Her approach in therapy is rooted in deep respect for the many ways that individuals survive traumatic experiences and cope in their aftermath. Moravia believes that everyone can heal. In therapy, she strives to create a warm and welcoming environment to support clients in their healing journeys.Moravia has extensive experience and training in trauma therapies, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. She completed her Master of Science in Social Work, as well as a Master of Arts in Latin American Studies, at the University of Texas at Austin in 2019. Moravia also has over ten years of experience developing advocacy campaigns and conducting research on human rights issues in the Americas, including the traumatic impacts of disappearance on mothers of missing and disappeared people in Mexico.
