Living and Loss Counselling
Six months before I retired as a high school counsellor, my husband died of prostrate cancer. From that experience, I decided to establish a private practice and specialize in grief and trauma With my professional qualifications and lived experience, I feel comfortable walking beside others in their grief journey. My EMDR training has transformed my practice by providing the skills and grief protocol to support clients eliminate the effects of traumatic grief. In addition to individual sessions, I offer free monthly community grief groups for a couple target members: motherless daughters and parent loss. Every year I organize a luncheon the Sunday before Mothers Day to allow adult children time to celebrate their mother. I have also delivered groups for bereaved caregivers, First Nation women, and parents who have lost a child. Invitations to lead workshops regarding caregivers self care, navigating grief during the holidays, and aging with grace.
