Samaria Nancy Cardinal (she/her) is a Blackfoot-Métis woman with an MSW in clinical practice, an RSW and a Clinical Social Work Candidate. She is the Owner/Lead Indigenous Therapy Specialist at Flower In The Wind Therapy, an Indigenous-owned counselling practice based in Alberta. With over 20 years of experience in disability, addictions, and mental health, Samaria provides trauma-informed care rooted in cultural safety, relational accountability, and a “two-eyed seeing” approach that honours both Indigenous wisdom and evidence-based Western therapy.She is EMDR-certified and also trained in DBT and Narrative Therapy (Levels 1 & 2), Indigenous-focused therapy, Indigenous Tools for Daily Living, and Wellbriety facilitation. Her work supports youth, adults, and seniors (approximately ages 16–75) and includes EMDR for trauma processing and stabilization, Indigenous-informed therapy frameworks and couples therapy.Samaria offers in-person sessions in Calgary and virtual therapy across Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and the Northwest Territories. She is approved for restricted activities, including psychosocial interventions and supervision of others, and is committed to decolonizing mental health care through respectful, grounded, and practical healing work that centres consent, community connection, and holistic wellness.
