Dr. Manj Bath is the CEO and Clinical Director of MindRight Counselling & Consulting. He earned his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in Seattle, WA, completing his internship at Western Washington University (WWU) in Bellingham, WA. He also holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia (UBC). Dr. Bath is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC #12277) and is a Certified EMDR Therapist and Approved EMDRIA Consultant from EMDRIA. Additionally, he is a member of EMDR Canada.
Dr. Manj has extensive experience working with Vancouver Coastal Health, the Government of British Columbia and Alberta, and various not-for-profit organizations, providing group counselling and individual therapy to children, youth, individuals, and families. He is skilled in conducting risk and suicide assessments. His therapeutic approach incorporates the bio-psycho-social model to understand clients’ issues and develop personalized treatment plans. He utilizes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and EMDR to facilitate client progress.
Dr. Manj has a vast knowledge of working with adolescent and young adult men who are struggling with navigating their emotions and developing a sense of purpose in their lives, resulting in aggressive and at-risk behavior. In addition, he is trained in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and worked with couples working through various issues, such as communication, infidelity, betrayal trauma, and more.
Dr. Manj’s primary research interest is using EMDR to address problematic internet and video gaming. His dissertation focused on developing the EMDR Gaming Recovery & Insight Protocol (E-GRIP), which aims to address issues related to irritability, anger, and aggression in the context of video gaming and social media use. He is available for media appearances, podcasts, and educational workshops on topics including mental health, trauma, purpose and meaning, addiction, and related areas.
