Repose Wellness Collective
Maggie is a Canadian Certified Counsellor and holds a master degree in Counselling Psychology from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador. She has over a decade of experience working with children, teens, adults, and families in various capacities including the non-profit, education, and health sectors. Maggie is a member of EMDR Canada & EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), Canadian Association for Play Therapy (CAPT), and Postpartum Support International (PSI).
Maggie believes in creating a safe and non-judgemental space for her clients so they can work collaboratively to set individualized therapeutic goals. She takes an eclectic approach to counselling, drawing primarily from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. In addition, Maggie has post-graduate training in OCD and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Play Therapy, Perinatal Mental Health, Anxiety, Grief, Trauma, and child development.
Maggie has extensive experience and a love for supporting children, teens, and their families. She offers support to this population in the areas of anxiety, OCD, grief and loss, trauma, challenging behaviour, parenting support, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and relationship challenges. Her work with this population is often informed by her training in Play Therapy and child development. Her therapy space has a sandtray, puppets, games, art and craft supplies.
Maggie also provides counselling services to adults. She discovered a passion for working with adults who are experiencing trauma and grief through supporting survivors of sexual abuse and newcomers to Canada. In addition, her experience with becoming a new mom during the heights of the COVID-19 pandemic has drawn her to the area of perinatal mental health and working with individuals during pregnancy, postpartum, fertility challenges, and loss. She also provides support for adults who are experiencing anxiety, OCD, depression, stress, relationship challenges, parenting challenges, and life transitions.
Maggie enjoys working with clients of all ages and is accepting referrals for children, teens, adults, and the perinatal population.
