Valentina Chichiniova

EMDR Consultant

Emergence Counselling & Wellness Inc.

Counselling is a process of change and personal growth. I recognize how difficult it may be to begin the therapeutic process and I strive to create a safe and attuned environment where you can let your guard down. The therapeutic space is the safe haven where you can speak about anything and still feel respected, accepted and hopeful – hopeful that there is more to life than whatever pain or challenge has brought you to the place where you now – feeling overwhelmed, stressed, sad or stuck.

By working in a partnership with you, my role is to assist and empower you to reconnect with and build upon your unique strengths so that you can confront the challenges you face. In a client-centered experiential approach, I will lead you into a process of discussions and activities that will help you recognize, understand and re-frame, change, or rewire rigid and/or unhelpful thoughts, feelings, behaviours, sensations and memories, so that you can reconnect with your life in a way that is working for you!

I hold a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology and have extensive post graduate training in trauma and complex trauma therapy. I also hold a certificate in Psychedelic Assisted Therapy through Vancouver Island University. I continue to pursue professional excellence through continuous education and consultations. I have worked with adults and youth in community and inpatient settings, supporting them through struggles such as trauma, complex trauma, psychedelic integration, anxieties, depression, bi-polar disorder, life stress and more.

I am looking forward to being part of your journey towards growth and healing!
