EMDR Basic Training
Maggie Claydon Counselling
I am a registered clinical counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, a trained EMDR therapist and have been counselling individuals for over ten years. I hold a Doctorate degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy, a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. I offer personal counselling services to adults that are seeking improvement in their lifestyle and mental health.
I am very passionate about helping others, and it is my goal as a counsellor to provide a safe, judgement free space for clients to share their concerns and receive support, reflection and feedback on their mental health concerns. I believe in helping the whole individual and creating balance in daily living by greater self-awareness and finding clarity in the needs of our authentic selves.
My therapeutic approach is client-centered therapy/Rogerian therapy, meaning the foundation of counselling will include understanding a client’s issues without judgement, and working together to bring about options that best suit the client’s individual needs and challenges. With Rogerian therapy as the foundation of my counselling approach, I also integrate cognitive-behavioural therapy, body-centered therapy and EMDR therapy into my sessions, based on what each client’s needs and goals are for counselling.
