I am a Registered Social Worker in Alberta, practicing in the Edmonton area, a Registered Social Worker with the British Columbia College of Social Workers offering telehealth therapy to residents of BC and a Licensed Social Worker with The Northwest Territories Department of Health and Social Services providing telehealth therapy to residents of the NWT and Yukon. I have been employed as a social worker for over twenty five years. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Alberta in 1996 and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Calgary in 1999. In 2020, I completed the Master of Social Work program through Wilfrid Laurier University.
I have advanced training in EMDR including:
-The Advanced Practice of EMDR for Perinatal and Infant Mental Health
-Recent Traumatic Episode Protocol (RTEP)
-An Introduction to Working with Clients Presenting Early Life Trauma from an EMDR Perspective
My areas of special interest and expertise include trauma, working with first responders, depression, anxiety, postpartum/perinatal mood disorders for both birthing and non-birthing parents, grief and loss, relationship issues and adjustment to stressful or new life circumstances. I have Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C).
My goal is to work collaboratively with clients in order to support individuals and couples in achieving goals they have set for themselves using a client-centered approach.
