Bahareh immigrated to Canada as a young adult, and the transition was both challenging and transformative. As an Iranian-Canadian woman, adjusting to a new culture, navigating the complexities of a new environment, and balancing family dynamics were significant hurdles she faced. Being married outside of her culture has enriched her life with even more multicultural experiences, deepening her appreciation for cultural diversity. Her own experiences have given her firsthand insight into the struggles many immigrants face — from displacement and cultural adjustment to the emotional toll of integrating multiple identities. These challenges have shaped her understanding of trauma and reinforced the importance of cultural sensitivity in healing.Bahareh’s interest in mental health was also deeply personal. Having a family member with a mental health diagnosis inspired her to learn more about psychiatry and psychotropic medications, and to pursue a career supporting others. Over the years, she has gained extensive experience working with local Health Authorities, supporting individuals with conditions such as Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, and other psychotic disorders. This blend of personal and professional experience has given Bahareh a deep empathy for her clients, as well as a strong commitment to advocating for accessible, culturally sensitive mental health care.
