Bridget Douglas, MSW, RSW, is the Founder and Clinical Director of Northern Therapy Practice, serving individuals and families across Northern Ontario through both in-person and virtual services. With more than 22 years of experience in social work, mental health, addictions, and trauma treatment, Bridget specializes in helping children, adolescents, and adults recover from the effects of trauma, PTSD, adverse life experiences, and relational difficulties.Bridget holds a Master of Social Work degree from Laurentian University and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Trauma Incident Reduction (TIR), and other trauma-focused approaches. Her clinical work is grounded in a compassionate, client-centered, and strengths-based approach that supports lasting healing, resilience, and personal growth.Throughout her career, Bridget has worked extensively in community mental health, addictions, child welfare, crisis response, and Indigenous-serving organizations. She is passionate about increasing access to specialized trauma treatment in rural and Northern communities and is committed to helping clients move beyond survival toward meaningful recovery and improved quality of life.Bridget also has a special interest in supporting athletes, first responders, professionals, leaders, and other high performers who are navigating trauma, anxiety, performance blocks, injury-related distress, confidence issues, or the pressures associated with competition and achievement. Through EMDR and trauma-informed performance-focused work, she helps clients address the emotional and nervous system barriers that may interfere with focus, confidence, resilience, and peak performance.Bridget provides EMDR therapy for a wide range of concerns, including PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety, grief, attachment injuries, adverse childhood experiences, and performance-related challenges.
