Carolyn Black

EMDR Basic Training

Public Schools Branch of PEI

My goal as a therapist is to assist individuals to gain understanding of their experiences and how those experiences impact their present behaviors. I then help them move past these behaviors in a structured manner. With 20+ years working with youth and adults, I have gained experience in applying a wide variety of psychotherapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotional Freedom technique (EFT), Mindfulness, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to name a few. I have worked with youth of all ages, their families and adults to effectively move clients forward in their goals to healing. I also frequently use formal assessments to determine best areas of focus for therapy such that clients move through therapy in the most efficient manner.
