Cathryn Harris, PhD CPsych, is a registered Psychologist in the province of Ontario, whose services are regulated by the College of Psychologists of Ontario, and is competent to perform psychological services and to provide supervision, teaching and training in Clinical Psychology and Counselling Psychology with children, adolescents, and adults in individual, relationship, and family therapy and provide consultation and services to organizations and businesses within her scope of competency. She has specialized training in the assessment and diagnosis of mental illness, short term and long term modalities of individual adult psychotherapy and counselling, marriage and family therapy and counselling, parent coaching, play therapy and behavioral therapy with children, adolescent psychotherapy and counselling, psychoeducation in brain-behavior relationships and medication management, chronic and acute mental illness, psychodynamic therapy, systems therapy, EMDR therapy, trauma treatment, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, and the integration of psychology and theology in faith-based therapy for interested clients. Cathryn was trained in EMDR in 2001/2006, and has been practicing EMDR consistently since that time. She obtained Certification in EMDR in 2015, and is a registered Consultant-in-Training with EMDRIA as of 2020, and a member in good standing with EMDRIA and EMDR-Canada. She currently specializes in treating adults with trauma-related issues, including first responders with operational stress injuries. She is available for clinical supervision for those still in training, general practice consultation for already registered/licensed professionals, as well as consultation that meets the requirements of certification in EMDR therapy. Cathryn also can provide training and consultation to mental health organizations, businesses, and religious leadership. She is Assistant Professor and associate faculty at McMaster Divinity College, as well as maintaining a full time private practice (both in-person and virtual) and serving in volunteer capacities with the Canadian Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and EMDR-Canada.
