Prior to receiving the Comprehensive Basic EMDR Training (as noted above), I completed a prior Basic Training in EMDR Therapy with another provider (2018). From 2018 on, I have worked in two clinical counselling clinics with a number of clients using EMDR therapy. Clients included those from WSBC, ICBC, FNHA and private clients.
Since then I have completed additional training in EMDR including the following: Defense and Affect Restructuring with EMDR Therapy (Dr. A. Leeds, 2020), Date Smart & Love Mindfully: Core Components of Healthy Dating & Relationships (Dr. Carla Manly, 2022), Minding the Body: Somatic Interventions to Enhance EMDR Effectiveness (Dr. Fisher, 2022).
I received my Masters of Education in Adult Education in 1993 from UBC Vancouver. From 2004-2007 I completed additional grduate courses in Counselling Psychology through City University, Vancouver BC including two terms of a supervised practicum. I took two levels of Satir Therapy and then was accepted by BCACC as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#3090) in 2010.
For 5.5 years I worked in a Residential Treatment Centre in Kelowna (Crossroads) under the supervision of a RCC where I worked in group therapy with either men or women, groups of 8-10 persons at a time for 4-6 week programs.
Now, I am working with Three Sisters Counselling Inc. with clients from WSBC PTSD Pilot Program, Arcora, HumanaCare, CVAP and some additional private clients.
