EMDR Basic Training
I M Psychotherapy Services
Hello,
As most of my current clients, you are likely experiencing intrusive memories, avoidance, and negative thoughts about yourself and other people. You may be experiencing ongoing negative emotions of fear, blame, guilt, anger, and/or shame. Additionally, you may be easily frightened, have trouble sleeping and concentrating, and you may be engaging in substance abuse, isolating, and emotional eating. If you have identified with some or all these symptoms you have likely experienced a traumatic event(s). As a trauma-informed therapist, I employ EMDR Therapy to process traumatic events and to heal old emotional wounds.
EMDR unlocks the brains ability to move towards awareness, compassion, and self-empowerment. By acknowledging some of these symptoms and seeking guidance from a therapist you are investing in your wellbeing. Researchers have found that the bond between you and your therapist is likely to have a big effect on your growth.
It’s very important to do your research, ask questions, and pay attention to your own feelings of trust and comfort with a therapist. As a psychotherapist, I strive to provide clients with a warm, non-judgmental, and collaborative environment that promotes development of self-awareness, self-compassion, emotional regulation, and self-empowerment.
