Rewriting Your Narrative

Jessica brings over 10 years of experience in psychotherapy and counselling, with diverse clinical experience supporting individuals through trauma, emotional distress, and complex life challenges. Her work is particularly informed by trauma-focused and psychodynamic approaches, with a specialized interest in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).Jessica’s journey into psychotherapy began with a longstanding fascination with psychology, including the brain, consciousness, trauma, addictions, and emotions. Through her undergraduate studies in Psychology, Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, and Doctorate in Counselling & Psychotherapy, this interest evolved into a deeper understanding of how our past experiences can shape our present lives—often in ways that exist outside of our conscious awareness.Jessica is particularly interested in exploring the connection between past experiences and present-day patterns. From a psychodynamic perspective, thoughts, emotions, behaviours, relationships, and ways of coping can be influenced by unconscious processes, early experiences, attachment relationships, and protective patterns. Understanding these deeper dynamics can help clients make sense of patterns that may feel confusing, repetitive, or difficult to change.EMDR is an important part of Jessica’s trauma-focused work. She uses EMDR to help clients process distressing experiences and memories that may continue to influence their emotional and relational lives. By working with experiences that may feel “stuck,” EMDR can support greater emotional regulation, perspective, integration, and a sense of liberation from the past.Jessica’s approach combines the depth of psychodynamic exploration with the structured, trauma-focused work of EMDR. She is interested not only in what is happening for a client today, but also in what may be happening beneath the surface—exploring unconscious patterns, protective responses, and the experiences that have shaped how a person understands themselves and their relationships. At the heart of Jessica’s work is the belief that each person carries an inner story that extends beyond conscious awareness. Rather than simply providing answers, Jessica sees her role as accompanying clients in exploring the deeper layers of their experience—the unconscious patterns, emotions, relationships, and inner conflicts that may be influencing their lives. Therapy becomes an opportunity to bring what has been unconscious into greater awareness, develop a deeper understanding of oneself, and move toward greater integration and wholeness.Jessica provides a compassionate, collaborative space to explore, process, and create meaningful change. If you are ready to understand what may be beneath the surface, process experiences that continue to affect you, and reclaim your sense of self, contact Rewriting Your Narrative today www.rewritingyournarrative.com.
