Katherine is a Clinical Social Worker (and Psychotherapist) registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). Katherine holds a Bachelor of Social Work from King’s University College in London, ON and a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University in Kitchener, ON. Katherine is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, a recognized trauma therapy, and is registered with EMDRIA Canada.

Katherine has been practicing social work for the past 25 years and has been a mental health first responder with police services since 2015. She has been working with the OPP for over 8 years in a mental health clinician capacity and is immersed in the first responder culture. She has a solid understanding of the dynamics and culture of policing and the organization and challenges. Katherine is passionate about helping first responders navigate the unique challenges of their role, the workplace and personal life. Trauma, stress, burnout, occupational stress, moral injury, grief, loss, end of life and advanced care planning are just a few of the areas in that Katherine has specialized training. Whether you’re seeking intensive therapy and strategies for coping or whether you need someone to listen and validate, Katherine provides therapy that is skillful, professional and confidential; both in-person and virtually.
