Krista Helman is deeply committed to mental health and its potential to transform lives. Armed with a Master of Social Work from Carleton University and a wealth of experience across diverse sectors, she brings extensive expertise to her endeavours.
As a seasoned social worker in the community, long-term care, and hospital settings, Krista has a deep understanding of patient and client complexities. She’s adept at providing psychotherapy, advocating for patient needs, and facilitating discharge planning. As a Consultant at EMDR Consulting and the Crisis & Trauma Resource Institute, Krista shares her wealth of knowledge through hands-on assistance and engaging training. Additionally, she provides invaluable consultation and support to fellow Social Workers and Psychotherapists, enriching their clinical practice and outcomes.
In addition to her clinical social work, Krista further honed her briefing skills as a Senior Program Officer with the Government of Canada. Her leadership roles as Co-Director of the West Ottawa Wellness Clinic and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors at the West Ottawa Community Resource Centre underscore her commitment to making a positive impact on mental health and beyond. Passionate and dedicated, Krista is driven by her desire to foster positive change and enhance well-being.
