EMDR Basic Training

Saskatchewan Cancer Agency

I am a mother, wife, animal lover, and helping professional. I am lucky to reside in the beautiful Qu’Appelle Valley in Saskatchewan. My greatest joys are being with my family, spending time outside, and snuggling my animals. I am thankful to have been able to support adults, children, youth and their families, for the past 18 years. Currently I work as a clinical oncology social worker where I get to journey with individuals, and their love ones, who are dealing with having a cancer diagnosis. As part of this work I also offer Dignity Therapy, facilitate groups, and participate in, and train around, Serious Illness Conversations.

My previous work with Child and Youth Services surrounded providing support to children/youth and their families. My experience includes individual counselling to youth and their parents around various mental health issues including anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation and psychosis. I also provided group facilitation rregarding parenting, anxiety and depression.

Since taking the EMDR training I believe I have found my niche. I strongly believe in this approach to helping individuals who are held back in experiencing life due to past traumas, anxiety, depression or other mood disorders. Thus, as I venture into private practice, this will be my main focus.
