I have over 40 years of experience as social worker and hold a Master of Social Work degrees (1983) from the University of Windsor.
Prior to entering into private practice full time in 2011, I worked in child protection specializing in the following areas:
providing services for families where sexual abuse had been verified,
child abuse investigation and forensic interviewing,
developing community protocols for addressing lethality risk in domestic violence cases.
My areas of focus in private practice have been working with individuals to overcome current and past trauma in their lives often as a result of childhood violence or neglect and individual incidents of trauma such as intimate partner violence, assault or other overwhelming stressors.
I am also sessional faculty with the School of Social Work at King?s University College, and Brescia University.
I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers, and certified in EMDR.
