MICHELLE GIBSON

EMDR Basic Training

Gibson & Associates

I am a practising Psychotherapist and Registered Social Worker (OCSWSSW). As a trauma specialist, I work with any concerns that stem from past experiences that have us feeling stuck, helpless or hopeless. I work with anyone who feels impacted by their past including (but not limited to) those living with PTSD, Complex PTSD, Anxiety based disorders, Dissociative Disorders, and Borderline Personality Disorder. If you?re wondering if I can help you, please contact me and we can determine together if I am the right fit for you.

I work collaboratively with my clients primarily from an Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy, somatic therapy and EMDR Therapy perspective. Each of these approaches has their time and place in the therapy process and I am proud to be able to offer them to you.

In addition to psychotherapy, I am an adjunct professor where I teach in undergraduate and masters-level classes in psychotherapy theories and skills, trauma informed and specialized practice, and human development. I also regularly facilitate workshops that are open to the public as well as those hosted at private organizations throughout Canada. I enjoy sharing my practice insights with others as well as taking in the wisdom of others which makes teaching an added bonus of the work that I do.

In my spare time, you can find me enjoying the outdoors, reading, traveling, and spending time with my two dogs.
