Still Me Psychotherapy
My name is Rochelle Carribine. I am an educator who has shifted my professional focus to psychotherapy. As a teacher, I wanted to prioritize my attention on the social and emotional wellness of others. As a psychotherapist, that can be my entire focus, which is exciting for me. I truly believe that therapy is beneficial for each and every one of us. I know I would not be who I am today without the collaborative work I did in therapy with my counsellor. I feel immense gratitude for her. I aspire to provide a similar kind of compassion and support with my clientsI believe in the benefits of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and the idea that we have the potential to alter our thoughts, feelings, physical reactions and behaviours. I am attuned with those ideas through a mindfulness approach, or mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT). To me, the client is the expert of their own life, so narrative and person-centered therapy both speak to me. Finally, working from a trauma-informed lens is essential and an area that I continue to learn about, through my EMDR training and consultation. As a psychotherapist, I am drawn to work that brings our emotions out into the open. I am a sensitive person who believes that our emotions are our pathways. They help us to know ourselves and to know our best self. I am a married mother of two, with two young cats and a dog. I enjoy baking, reading, music, movies, travel, and spending time outdoors. I find nature quite restorative. I believe in community, inclusion, and compassion for all beings.
