I am a Registered Social Worker Psychotherapist who completed my Master of Social Work degree at the University of Toronto and am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I am also a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.I began my career at CAMH in Toronto where I was trained in Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and DBT to work with individuals with concurrent disorders in both inpatient and outpatient treatment settings.Following parental leave, I worked at CMHA in Kitchener as a member of the Eating Disorders Service, working with children, youth, and adults in evidence-based treatments for Anorexia, Bulimia, ARFID, BED and other forms of disordered eating. I was trained in DBT, FBT and AFT during this time.I opened my private practice in 2018 to focus on supporting individuals with complex physical and mental health challenges. I also trained to support newly diagnosed ADHD and ASD youth and late-diagnosed adults, primarily women, during this time.In 2021 I took EMDR basic training virtually and have been providing that with ongoing training and consultation. I am working towards certification.Since 2021 I have also been working with an international patient advocacy group- the Vasculitis Foundation to develop mental health supports for individuals with chronic autoimmune conditions. I sit as a patient partner on research projects and as a patient ambassador who speaks at in-person conferences and events. I also created a mental health psycho-education workbook and accompanying course for patients that is run on zoom four times each year. I train other patients with professional experience in facilitation (other counsellors/therapists/teachers) to deliver this psycho-education course as peer facilitators. Over the next few years I hope to research and validate this work as a patient-created, led, and peer delivered mental health education program for people living with Vasculitis. due to this projects ever-expanding scope, my goal to be EMDR certified has been delayed. However, I have maintained regular EMDR consultation and training throughout this time.In 2025 I began a collaborative practice, Navigate Mental Health Service, in Guelph to serve clients both in-person and virtually. Navigate has a Nurse Practitioner, Registered Dietitian and an additional EMDR trained Registered Social Worker Psychotherapist. We specialize in supporting clients living with complicated mental and physical health concerns.
