EMDR Basic Training
Mrs. Tessa Alexander is a Psychological Associate registered to offer Clinical Psychology services to Adolescents and Adults. Mrs. Alexander treats a variety of concerns including anxiety and mood disorders, post-traumatic stress and ADHD. She has experience supporting patients who’ve endured a workplace accident or those that are the survivors/loved ones of those who’ve experienced a motor vehicle accident. She also works with clients hoping to explore general wellness concerns in therapy, like stress, bullying, the transition to post-secondary school, work-life balance, communication and healthy relationships.
Mrs. Alexander has experience working in public and private companies, offering both group and individual therapy services. She’s previously been employed to work with survivors of domestic violence, those needing support with suicide prevention/intervention, and clients seeking counselling services in a post-secondary school environment. She has provided group therapy to adults managing stress, processing trauma or needing support due to a risk of homelessness. Furthermore, Mrs. Alexander has experience offering therapeutic intervention within a cultural framework to clients that identify as Indigenous, First Nation, Inuit or Metis.
Mrs. Alexander uses a multidimensional approach to therapy. She has experience working with clients from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapeutic perspective, and has integrated components of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Relational Attachment Psychotherapy and Mindfulness into her therapeutic practice. She has also recently completed her training in integrating Eyemovement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy into her practice. She teaches several psychology related courses at Niagara College where she is employed as a part time instructor.
