EMDR Basic Training

Cheryl has a Master of Arts Degree in Counselling Psychology and is a Registered Psychotherapist with College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), as well as a Registered Counselling Therapist (RCT) in Nova Scotia. She works in private practice at this time. In-person sessions are at Bear River and Area Community Medical Center, and virtual sessions from Annapolis Royal, both in Nova Scotia. Combining skill in various counselling methods, Cheryl is experienced with applying techniques to resolve symptoms of: PTSD, anxiety, depression, bereavement, substance use and trauma. She has specialized training and experience using EMDR and Brainspotting, for First Responders and Military personnel, to alleviate symptoms of trauma and/or dissociation. She also has 12 years experience working with youth between the ages of 16-25. Several years with Victims Services of York Region, as a facilitator for the Suicide Bereavement Group, has provided particular skill and insight to work with family who have survived the loss of loved ones to suicide. She is now providing virtual services to clients across Canada and locally, in-person in the Annapolis Valley region.
