EMDR Basic Training Membership
St Paul Family Health Organization
Hello, I am a family physician, licenced in 1998 with the CPSO and College of Family Physicians of Canada with a part-time psychotherapy practice. I have been serving patients with OHIP covered therapy / counselling since 2000. I have psychotherapy training with workshops in CBT, IPT CBT-I . I have been a member of MDPAC (Medical Psychotherapy Association Canada) since the early 2000’s ( this association was at this time known as GPPA – General Practice Psychotherapy Association ) and acquired Certificant status in 2012. This required completion of 50 hours of personal psychotherapy, attendance at the Annual conference, for 2 years, references, and minimum 90 hours of approved psychotherapy training of my interest and 1000 hours of paid professional work as a psychotherapist. I have also taught family practice residents their mental health component of training from 2000 to 2023, at McMaster University, as an Associate Clinical Professor part time, in the department of family medicine, and continue to hold that designation. I took the EMDR basic skills training course with Barbara Horne through Niagara Stress and Relief online in 2025/26. I am an active member of MDPAC participating in committee work as well. I look forward to being a member of EMDR Canada to advance my training and qualifications in EMDR as I have very much enjoyed and am seeing some amazing results with this modality.
